Memorial Day Hike--Crimson Trail

Last Monday, Memorial day, I went on a hike with some friends on the Crimson trail up Logan canyon. Basically, it's about 30 min. of hard hiking, then you walk along a beautiful, easy trail...only feet away from the edge of a cliff they call the "china wall." It was beautiful, but scary! The first picture shows the cliffs we hiked along (taken from the hike I did a few weeks ago).

This is looking over the cliff edge from the trail. You definitely don't get the full effect. Needless to say, this hike is NOT for those who are afraid of heights!

Beautiful view looking through the canyon toward Logan

Me, Dru and Natalie. I'm only standing so incredibly awkwardly because I have Riley's leash tied around my ankle. I didn't want him exploring and taking a 200 foot (ish) fall.

Dru, Natalie, and Matt enjoying a sack lunch on a flat rock, overlooking the edge.

On the way back, I took pictures of pretty wildflowers and stopped to dangle my feet in the ice cold river. I think my friends may have gotten a bit annoyed, but they were patient with me. Thanks guys! It was beautiful and I was just in the mood to soak it all in. I love hiking. I hope to do a lot more this summer. Next: Jardine Juniper.

  1. Pretty! I'm a little jealous you live in the mountains.
